Local Data Storage

ChartScope stores certain data locally on your device to provide its functionality:

• API Credentials: Your exchange API keys are stored exclusively in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. These credentials never leave your device.
• User Preferences: Settings like your preferred currency, language, and theme are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults.
• Cached Market Data: Market data fetched from exchanges may be temporarily cached to improve performance.

On-Device Processing

All AI analysis and data processing in ChartScope occurs locally on your device using Apple's Core ML framework. This means:

• Your market data is never sent to external AI servers
• Analysis results are generated entirely on your device
• No internet connection is required for AI features after initial setup

Third-Party Services

ChartScope connects to the following third-party services:

• Cryptocurrency Exchanges: We connect to exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, Kraken) using their public APIs to fetch market data and, with your permission, your portfolio information. These connections use your API keys stored locally and are made directly from your device.
• Apple App Store: For subscription management and in-app purchases, we use Apple's StoreKit framework.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

• API keys are stored in iOS Keychain with hardware encryption
• All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Read-only API permissions are encouraged and enforced where possible
• No sensitive data is ever logged or stored in plain text

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) are handled entirely on your device. You can:

• Delete all app data by uninstalling ChartScope
• Remove API credentials through the app settings
• Clear cached data through iOS Settings

Children's Privacy

ChartScope is not intended for use by children under 17. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app deals with financial markets and is designed for adult users only.

AI-Powered Explanations

When enabled, ChartScope sends computed market indicators (such as RSI values, trend directions, and technical signals) to third-party AI services to generate educational explanations.

This data is derived from publicly available market prices and contains no personal information. No portfolio data, exchange credentials, or user-identifiable information is ever transmitted.

The AI explanation feature is opt-in and disabled by default. You can enable or disable it at any time in the app's Settings. When disabled, ChartScope uses built-in template-based explanations that work entirely on-device.

Your IP address is not shared with AI service providers — all requests are routed through our proxy server.
